Gracepoint - Broadchurch but /clearly/ better cause its FOX (sarcasm should be noted)

Fuck it, no one even reads this thing, so imma just say what I think of this gracepoint and its relation to broadchurch and not really bother to properly lay it out, cause.... i forgot my clothes. And this blog was created with no real intention, just one of those things i guess.

Anyways, so FOX just put out the first trailer for gracepoint. Which is interesting, i'm a big fan of broadchurch so when I heard FOX was like "Oh, there's a popular show in another country. Lets remake it in the US, cause FUCKING MURICAAAAA". (At least I imagine that's how the meetings at fox go down, little to no intelligence and no willingness to take some risks for some decent fucking shows. Anyways, that's for another day *cough* *cough* FIREFLY *cough* *cough* FUCK YOU FOX *cough* *cough*.) I was like oh cool, that seems... interesting. Personally I don't see the point in remaking a UK TV show in the US, but that's just me. Call me old fashioned, but it seems like FOX is trying to, dare I say, cash in on the broad church craze? (You know, because there's /so/ much). Dont get me wrong, like I said before, im a fan of the show. Big fan. But it doesn't have /that/ big of a following, sure there are a fuck ton of fans, but i just don't think that would even warrant companies to try and cash in on it. But hey, lets talk about the trailer now. Its just above, so feel free to watch it if you haven't already. Now, I'm a whovian (actually how i found out about broadchurch in the first place :D), so I'm not only used to David's Scottish accent, but I'm also used to him doing... well, only UK stuff. (If anyone says "he was in harry potter, so you is wrong. HA *knee slap*) I would recommend for you to go ahead and jump of a cliff. Just like some would say danny did. What, too soon? But seriously, anyone who thinks harry potter is american deserves to die. I'm sure most of you would see this as common knowledge, I'm afraid to inform you that, to some, it is not. Anywhom, like I was saying, David's addition to the cast of the US remake was surprising. I mean, yeah its a remake of the show he was in, sure i guess, but /really/? Then again, moss was in the it crowd US pilot (which actually has some similarities to what gracepoint looks like, i'll get to that later) So I guess it's not all that odd for an actor to go to work on the remake of a show he was on before. It was just new to me is all, for an actor of his stature. That peaked my attention, as well as Anna Gunn's addition to the cast, as I am a breaking bad fan (fuck you skylar). Watching the trailer, however, was dissapointing, to say the least. I'll explain why. Its the same thing. Like, seriously. It is the SAME FUCKING THING!!!!!! Holy shit! Shot for shot, character by character, apart from the change of actors (and accent on David's part, by god it's cringeworthy) its broadchurch. But oh no wait, im wrong. Its better. Because AMERICA!!!! It's all so clear now! They can do the exact same thing, and manage to do a shitter version of it,  because its america!! Okay, I know im going overboard on their state of mind, but... that really is it. At least thats what it feels like. Why does there always have to be an /american/ remake? Its usless and pointless. The only time I have seen this happen, and succeed, is when the office was remade. AND THAT'S CAUSE RICKY FUCKING GERVAIS WAS PRODUCER!!! Because he was part of the team, the remake is what a remake should be. Re doing the show, but not word by word, not shot by shot. Doing it new and fresh and, dare i say, decent. So, it can be done. But why isnt it?! I mentioned before the it crowd US pilot. Yeah, its there. Look it up. Richard Ayoade, who plays moss in the original show, portrays moss in the us pilot. Its awful. Why? Cause its the same thing. And they try so hard to be funny, it just ruins it. It was never actually aired, it got canned. Gracepoint seems like the same sorta thing to me. Its the same goddamn thing, and there is no need for it to be remade, and the only reason anyone is going to watch it, is either out of curiosity or just wanting to see the actor reprising his role on the show, to see the difference. But there wont be any. Will I watch gracepoint (no that anyone seeing this gives a fuck, but hey, this is my blog so everyone reading it obviously cares about my opinons! Which is why no one reads it... forever alone) Yes I will. Because, thankfully, they changed the killer. But something tells me its gonna be either the kids father, or David. Or maybe they just gave up and made it the pedo who owns the lighthouse. Oops, spoilers. Yes, i havent seen gracepoint But i've seen broadchurch, and its the exact same fucking thing.
